A historic meeting between the Harry S. Truman Presidential Library and the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum will take place on March 1, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. CST (UTC/GMT: Tuesday, March 2, 01:00 to 03:00), via a live videoconference / webcast. This event, presented by Webster University and its Holden Public Policy Forum, will be a first-of-its-kind symbolic meeting between President Truman and Hiroshima since the tragic events of 1945.
This webcast is being produced in anticipation of the critical 2010 Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty Review Conference (NPT), May 3 to May 28 in New York City, in which the Harry S. Truman Presidential Library and Museum and the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum will discuss the philosophical basis on which they can work toward a common vision for the future of nuclear weapons.
